Apologetics
Dr. Lori Peters will be teaching the session “Apologetics: Engaging with Common New England Objections to the Gospel” at Homecoming 2026. She has served as an apologist, campus minister, educator, administrator, and school board member. She seeks to empower Christian school educators and administrators to have a robust vision of biblical worldview immersion in their classes and culture.
Many people today have little background knowledge of the Bible, Jesus, or Christianity. Before they are ready to consider the gospel, they may have honest questions—or face intellectual barriers—that deserve thoughtful answers.
At Homecoming, we will explore some of the most common questions people ask about the Christian faith:
How can we know what is true?
Is there good reason to believe God exists?
Why trust the Bible rather than other sacred texts?
Was Jesus a real historical person or borrowed from earlier religions?
Are miracles possible?
What evidence supports Jesus’ resurrection?
How can a loving, all-powerful God allow evil and suffering?
And is God really a “buzzkill”?
Together, we will examine reasoned, logical, and evidence-based responses to these questions. You’ll leave better prepared to move beyond a basic gospel presentation and engage in deeper conversations with clarity, confidence, and grace.
